Unhappy happiness

They say intelligent people are unhappier.

This is because a number of reasons, from propensity to loneliness to awareness of the world's misery.

But if these people were to be given the choice to become dumb, they'd probably refuse.

If this is self-inflicted suffering, it tells an interesting tale about human suffering.

Or maybe there is a paradoxical state of unhappy happiness, where the development of the human mind is the ultimate process of true happiness. That kind of happiness that makes one ready to part away, searching for a new world to conquer.
