Consequence Engine

What would you think if someone used your invention, writing, software, idea etc., and implied or outright called it their own— they stole it from you for their own profit? Or how about an actor playing a small part in a movie calling the whole thing his/her production when they contributed nothing more than their tiny part; would you think that they are either a liar or insane?
For us humans, creativity always takes place within a larger system that we did not, ourselves, create—it is dependant upon the skill of a creator who places certain constraints and freedoms into the order of his/her design; video games are a good example of this principle. Game designers set up certain laws that govern within their game which establish the boundaries and physics available to the players of that game. A game writer may even make it possible for a character, within the game, to learn how to circumvent, modify, or out-right cheat the “laws” set up for the proper operation of the game, but those characters still have no choice but to use the broad spectrum “laws” “physics” that the author/creator has established for those characters within his/her game to utilize. Without those “laws” the game would be unplayable and have no meaning (no continuity).
Thus it is easy to establish that the environment for any (video game) or any other game must have base level rules that all characters have no choice but to abide by—any modifications to the operating system (from the inside) cannot demand and accomplish creating their own reality without still utilizing much of the original “laws” that the system’s designer set forth within the game (from the outside). That creator is not necessarily constrained by the “laws” that he/she has established to operate within the game from outside of the game where he/she might call the “real world”. To the players within the game (let’s call them Avatars) he/she might appear to act supernaturally, but from the outside of the game it is business as usual.
The “laws” that operate outside of the game, don’t necessarily have to function or even reflect the way the laws inside of the game work (but they usually do). We can, however, assume that the “laws” in both places are there so that order can be built upon them in creative beneficial (sometimes even malevolent) ways. There is freedom for the avatars to learn and build within the order of those laws and outside of those laws there is chaos. The avatars would only be able to operate entirely outside of the game’s constraints if they knew every single line of code in the game and knew entirely how every law within it functioned—of course if they could know all those things, then they could write their own game to go live in.
Here is the part where I return to my opening line: “What would you think if someone used your invention, writing, software, idea etc., and implied or outright called it their own— they stole it from you for their own profit?” You cannot create your own reality without standing upon the foundation (physics/laws) of someone (far superior to you) else’s work. If the creator of those “laws” decides you don’t have the authority to use those same “laws” because you want to call them your own (without proof of ownership), then He may put you in a place where you only have your own “laws” to stand on.

I call this living within a Consequence Engine without the benefit of its creator’s blessing. Think Holodeck as in Star Trek, only your thoughts (without it’s creator’s guidance/blessing) creates the environment you will live within—you don’t get to use any of its creator’s software or hardware, but your mind creates whatever good, bad, ugly, creative or destructive, in whatever sequence they come to your mind without order all at the same “time” (since time doesn’t exist there as we know it). The only way to escape there (Hell) from within the inside is to have absolutely perfect control of your past, present and future thoughts. Good luck with that.
