#14 : Is this the fate of Human ?

in #philosophy7 years ago (edited)

Once a beautiful, pristine and blue oceans have now turned black with oil and brown with scum. The Amazon rain forest was once huge equipped with dense and dark forests beaming with life. But, now it is a barren crater where all the trees have been stripped down by the hundreds everyday. The Great Barrier Reef which supports thousands of species of plants and animals is turning bleach-white and everyday fishes are dying by the thousands .

The atmosphere today is heavily polluted. Huge industries and factories is befouling the air with thick, black and poisonous gases. The unbiodegradable waste are being dumped into landfills as well as water bodies . Everyday, the humans are spewing new and more deadlier poison into the atmosphere and oceans polluting the environment further. The earth's surface temperature has risen sharply compared to 50 years ago. Due to this , hundreds of species of animals and plants have become extinct and many more are on the verge of extinction. The Great Bengal tiger, one of the most majestic and nature's great predators numbered more that 40,000 fifty years ago in India . But, now the number has sunken to less than 1300 . The gharials ,  one of the species of crocodile, numbered above 1000 two decades ago in Nepal . But now, it has decreased to just 81. There are just some of the impacts of humans and human activities. This list in endless.

More that half of the population of the world dont even care about the impacts of our activities. They just can think about the ways of making profit . But, let me tell you, the consequences are not pretty at all .

Many of the world's most majestic , beautiful and amazing creatures will be extinct, never to be seen again. This will cause imbalance in the ecosystem and many more will die out . The polar ice cap will start to melt and water will flood huge coastal cities like London , Los Angeles,New York , Tokyo and other cities around the world . The crops of desolate farmlands will be burnt to cinders under the boiling hot sun. There will be corpses of dead and decaying animals and plants scattered across the landscape. The stench of those dead creatures will further pollute the environment. Food and water crisis will be felt across the world . People will be fighting to survive against the food and water crisis as well as the severe heat . Riots will breakout in protest of the severe crisis.  The world will slowly crumble . A devastating nuclear war will breakout fighting for the precious food and water. The humans will not be able to regain itself from the water and will slowly die out swimming. The great regime as the most dominant and destructive species the earth has ever seen will finally come to a screeching halt. But, the Earth will recover from the devastation in the next millennia or two. By, then the creatures will be living a happy , peaceful and human -free lives.

Do we want our future to be like this ? Think about it . The answer  obviously is a no. So, let's try to find or use alternative sources. Carbon cuts will not work . If we embark on quixotic crusade to cut emissions, we will not be able to avoid the rise of the mercury. It's time we considered alternatives.

So, lets switch off the lights when not in use .Let's use a compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs. Let's decrease the amount of polythene bags . Let's all stop deforestation and promote afforestation . Your small help can make an enormous difference !
