Are We A Product of Intelligent Design?

in #philosophy5 years ago

The universe is constantly expanding. At least as far as we can see - 93 billion light-years in diameter and counting.

The sheer size is nigh impossible for a human mind to conceive; though typical of the human condition, that won't stop us trying. It seems every passing decade we learn more about everything, getting smarter and yet somehow aware of how dumb we are in the grand scheme of things; the more questions we answer the more questions are left unanswered.

It seems increasingly apparent now that if there truly is some thing worthy of being called a god; it too would be beyond our understanding. If it was a fourth dimensional being, it could walk through time the same way you or I could walk from one end of a room to the other - what would it even look like? Could we even see all of it? If it was even more complex than that, would we even be able to see it?

It would be 'Omnipotent' in a sense, I recall a line from Groundhog Day; "Perhaps god isn't omnipotent maybe he's just been around long enough he knows everything" - anything that could pass through time could know anything and everything as far as we're concerned - certainly would have multiple tries if it ever got it wrong.

I don't feel like this was all an accident.

Perhaps the reason is too complex for us to understand - but that doesn't mean there is not a reason.

The only real question is whether it's within our means to find out.
