The Kuban Cossacks are part of the Cossacks of the Russian Empire in the North Caucasus, inhabiting the territories of the modern Krasnodar Territory, the western part of the Stavropol Territory, the south of the Rostov Region, and the Republics of Adygea and Karachaevo-Cherkessia, whose predecessors were mostly from the south of Ukraine.
