There are about 80 different kinds of flowering plants that belong to the Musa genus, and the edible banana is one of them.

Bananas, despite the fact that they are frequently referred to as trees, do not have a stem made of wood. Bananas are enormous herbaceous plants that have thick stalks that stand upright and from which massive, oblong leaves that are of a bright green colour emerge.

In most cases, the flowering process begins in the spring, and it is followed by the development of meaty, elongated, green or yellow fruit.
