Under a Green Sky

in #photofeed7 years ago (edited)

SolarStormVivianLake.jpg

A wide angle (14mm) shot taken in the forest looking straight up into the sky during a G3 solar storm at 54 Degrees North. Vivian Lake, Prince George, Northern British Columbia, Canada.

I have posted this up as part of Deranged Photography Contests - Paint the Sky contest run by @derangedvisions . Certainly the most amazing sky I have ever seen; it was pulsing green in every direction bright enough to see your own shadow.

Wow. Ethereal. And freaking spooky, depending on how you look at it.

Yes super spooky.

That is absolutely amazing! I wish I can see beautiful aurora like that!

Hopefully one day you will !

Ooh wow that's quite impressive, would have been really something to experience in person!

Looks like an alien invasion. Pretty cool. A sky in green color is something we do not see here.

Yes its quite special.

Indeed. Do you always just up-vote your own comments but not the post you are commenting on? Very poor form.

Beautiful, I can see hints of pink as well which makes it extra special. Reminds me of working in the Yukon. Thanks for posting.

Yes there was quite a lot of pink/red fringes on that night.

Great picture! looks unreal
