Summer will be synonymous with beach and pristine waters when you are living in the Philippines. Sand on your toes, salt on your hair and the sun piercing into your think skin burning it if you stay for long. But for me, its the kind of burning that I love to feel. Layers and layers of sunburn. And I’m proud of it.

There are so many islands and beaches adjacent and accessible if you are based in the beautiful province of Cebu. You go farthest North and you’ll have the new ”hot spot” called Carnaza Island. Down South are tourists favorites Moalboal White Beach in the South West and Oslob and Sumilon on the East. But actually you need not go that far. Approximately 20 minutes by boat ride from the Island of Mactan, you will find Olango Island. A fishing village complete of what a local or foreign tourist wants to experience in an island getaway... sea food, diving, beaching and other water activities! And if you have time and extra budget, I recommend that you do island hopping to its neighboring islands.

This photo was taken in North Sand Bar, a disappearing piece of paradise located in between Cebu and Bohol. Be sure to check low tide time if you want to experience the sand bar.

So what are you waiting for? Pack your bikini, a coral-friendly (environment friendly in general) sunscreen, your squad and your lust for adventure and good times! And sail away to a beautiful destination near you.

Enjoy summer.
