Monserrate: A Beautiful Place That You Can't Miss - Un Hermoso Lugar Qué No Te Puedes Perder
Today I want to share a very special place for Colombians, it's the beautiful hill of Monserrate located at 3.152 meters high from the eastern hills of Bogota.
Hoy quiero compartir un fotos de lugar muy especial para los colombianos, se trata del hermoso cerro de Monserrate, situado a 3.152 metros de altura de los cerros orientales de Bogotá.
The hill has been a place of pilgrimage since the time of the colony, it's a sanctuary to the Fallen Lord, which has a great religious value, it's visited by thousands of Catholic pilgrims.
El cerro ha sido un lugar de peregrinación desde la época de la colonia, es un santuario al Señor caído, que tiene un gran valor religioso, es visitado por miles de peregrinos católicos.
The cross located on the slope of the hill is a symbol of the ascension of the fallen lord of Monserrate.
La cruz ubicada en la falda del cerro es símbolo de la ascensión del señor caído de Monserrate.
It's a very beautiful place to photograph and spend a day with the family.
Es un lugar muy hermoso para fotografiar y pasar un día en familia.
I had the opportunity to be in this wonderful and quiet place, where you can walk through beautiful gardens, wide corridors of colonial architecture and stone columns, a fantastic museum where valuable antiques and oil paintings are preserved and of course, it's cozy church where there is a beautiful architecture and paintings by different artists and painters from the colonial era.
Tuve la oportunidad de estar en este maravilloso y tranquilo lugar, donde se puede recorrer estupendos jardines, amplios corredores de arquitectura colonial y columnas en piedra, un fantástico museo donde se conservan valiosas antigüedades y lienzos pintados al óleo y por supuesto, su acogedora iglesia donde se contempla una hermosa arquitectura y bonitos cuadros de diferentes artistas y pintores de la época colonial.
Debido a su estratégica ubicación en lo alto del cerro, es de lima frío, a veces con espesas neblinas al amanecer. Tiene unos cauces de agua muy bien cuidados y extensos, donde su sonido atrae vorazmente al curioso visitante que se deleita en medio de tanta paz.
This place can be reached on foot, by cable car or funicular depending on the availability of each person's time and the weather.
A este lugar se puede llegar a pie, en teleférico o en funicular, dependiendo de la disponibilidad de tiempo de cada persona y del clima.
The place is full of stairs and paven roads.
El lugar está lleno de escaleras y caminos empedrados.
Its most important economic activity is tourism, due to the visits made by different groups and families who are attracted by the magic of this beautiful place an who also want to acquire striking handmade souvenirs, weavings, and pottery that they have in their corridors.
Very good restaurants and places to rest after the long walk.
And can't miss the "Canelazo", a delicious hot drink called ideal for when the weather is cold and rainy.
Su actividad económica más importante es el turismo, debido a las visitas que se realizan por diferentes grupos y familias que se sienten atraídas por la magia de este bello lugar y que desean también, adquirir llamativos recuerdos artesanales, tejidos y alfarería que tienen en sus pasillos.
También se encuentran muy buenos restaurantes y sitios para descansar después de la larga caminata.
Y no puede faltar el "Canelazo", una rica bebida caliente, ideal para cuando el clima está frío y lluvioso.
Next to it is El cerro de Guadalupe, where the statue of the Immaculate Conception, patron saint of the archdiocese of Bogotá is located.
A su lado se encuentra el Cerro de Guadalupe, donde está la estatua de la Inmaculada Concepción patrona de la arquidiócesis de Bogotá.
From the hill os Monserrate it's possible to appreciate a beautiful panoramic view of the Bogotá city.
Desde el cerro de Monserrate es posible apreciar una hermosa panorámica de la ciudad de Bogotá.
The view that Monserrate has of Bogotá, the faith they evoke, their shrine and every stone that was put there with a purpose, Its pilgrims, its gardens and fountains, its gastronomy, its cloud forest, its sunsets, its starry nights and its majestic moon make the experience of visiting Monserrate unique.
La vista que desde Monserrate se tiene de Bogotá, la fe que evocan, su santuario y cada piedra que puesta allí con un propósito, sus peregrinos, sus jardines y fuentes, su gastronomía, sus bosques de niebla, sus atardeceres, sus noches estrelladas y su luna majestuosa hacen única la experiencia de visitar Monserrate.
