Nottingham Canal

Finally, I managed the short 3 km jog along the canal today without stopping due to my knees giving me grief. I probably shouldn't be running at all just yet, but my patience is low and a walk doesn't cut it for me exercise-wise.

The photos were taken yesterday on the same route and as you can see, it was a rather nice afternoon here in Nottingham, UK.

There is a distinct lack of Gregg's sausage roll crumbs knocking around at present, and so I'm glad this guy had the pretense of mind to bring some snacks for the flying rats, not.

These new-builds have a decent spot on the canal and I would guess it's reasonably quiet for them, even when there are more Barges cruising along. I only saw a couple of Geese on the other side of the bank but guess they can be noisy when they want to be.

On the left are the canal bars and on Friday afternoon on a day like this, even before 4/5pm arrives when the offices haven't closed for the weekend, they would be getting busy. Landlords must be fked, I hear they will have to pour a lot of beer down the drain soon - very sad.

One of the many Locks along the canal, genius, and probably a pain to navigate with a hint of satisfaction thrown in.

Nottingham Castle on the hill there, looking rather new for a 100000 year old building - it's being heavily renovated, or was.

The ducks seemed more weary of me than usual, and I had no bread.

And to finish, some empty car park porn. Never again in my lifetime will I see so many empty car parks on a Saturday afternoon. So bizarre.

I hope you are still managing to get out and about for a bit of exercise during these unprecedented times, a little fresh air each day makes me feel a lot better.
