The "Secrets" of the Chicago air show

So here is a little "SECRET" that most people do not know, or have not heard about in regards to the Chicago air and water show.

In August every year, Chicago has their air and water show with about 1.5 to 2 million people on the lake front to view and watch the show.

Here is your "Secret:"

Location: 6001 Airport Rd, Gary, IN 46406
Gary International Airport, Gary Indiana.

This is the staging platform for the planes to take off and enter the show and then return to land.

But the planes just don't land and end the show.

There is another air show (a private show for the spectators) at the Gary international airport just for the few that come to the airport to watch the planes land and take off.

This has been an ongoing tradition for years where the pilots will show off for the crowds of people waiting and watching for the planes to take off and land.
That is the "SECRET" to the best air show in Chicago, and very little known.

And now you know

These are few images taken on the flight line at the Chicago air show

The Blue Angels were taking off as I began boarding a biplane for take off.

This is a 1943 Boeing A75N1(PT17) C/N 75-4690

The pictures were taken just before taxiing down the run way.

I do not own this plane but had the extreme pleasure of riding and flying this plane.

While taxiing to the run way the control tower froze us, to allow this massive high powered aircraft to have the right of way.

While in the air I took a few pictures.
(by the way it is very breezy or extremely windy all in how you perceive it)

But there is still one more Secret to this blog entry.
