The most famous bird of paradise is a member of the genus
Paradisaea, including its type species, big yellow Cenderawasih,
Paradisaea apoda. This type is described from the specimen
taken to Europe from a trade expedition. This specimen is prepared by
indigenous traders by throwing their wings and legs to get them
