Snapshots of Nepal ~ 3: In FULL colour!

in #photography7 years ago

I have posted mostly stark contrasting black and white shots for my Snapshots of Nepal so far. Somehow they seem to best show off the facets of the country's drama and atmosphere that I felt while I was there.

That doesn't mean Nepal isn't colourful... Quite the opposite!

The many colours of Nepal ~ colourful prayer flags decorate the streets around the Boudhanath Stupa of Kathmandu... See, even the buildings are colourful!

Finally, seen in Patan, buildings richly decorated with golden structures, such as intricately molded doors and statues...

I visited Nepal, three years back, before the devastating earthquake hit in 2015. I'm glad I did. Here, I have shared some snapshots I took while I was there. I'll be posting more of these as we move along...

I remember spinning those wheels at boudhanath, and the strong sense of energy coming from that place.

Not only colorful, but also interesting as any ancient culture could be @ackhoo. Please provide some info on your equipment and exposure data. Upvoted, resteemed, followed & DPS.

Hi @photo-trail. Thank you very much - a linked photo would be good, thanks!

Wow awesome shots Ac! I would imagine to be hot there but people are dressed so warm...

Not hot, quite cool and nice - I actually expected it to be cold as we went in February, but as Kathmandu is in a valley, it was just right! Except when we went to see the sunset at Nagarkot - it got very cold by the time it got to sunset!

Thank you very much, Ewa! :))

How cold? :p

No idea, didn't have a thermometer with me... lol. I had a warm jacket but left it in the car thinking my shawl would be enough - it wasn't. Shivering cold and almost frozen by the time we were two hours there!!

Was the water freezing? :p
Ok, that was pretty cold I guess...

😁 (chattering teeth...)
