Shallow Earthquake Shakes Lombok, Some Houses Are Damaged An earthquake

measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale rocked the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara today (29/7). As a result of this earthquake,

a number of houses and buildings were damaged, there were casualties, and a number of people were injured. Along with the Indonesian Volunteers immediately moved towards the worst point to carry out in-depth assessments. The first earthquake occurred at 5.47 WIB, the epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers at a distance of 28 kilometers northwest of East Lombok.

This earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami, it was estimated that the magnitude of the earthquake impact was the IV scale of MMI. Twice aftershocks occurred with the strength of 5.5 and 5.0 Ricter scale of 10 kilometers depth. Based on the current field conditions, a number of residential houses suffered minor to severe damage. Damage to the building is reportedly located in Sambelia District and Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency. Reports of building damage also came from North Lombok Regency.

As well as a number of heavily damaged houses in Tepas Village, Brang Rea, West Sumbawa Regency. So far reports of casualties have continued to arrive.
