We Decided to take a trip to the oldest church in South Africa. This church is found in Tulbach about 3 hour drive out of Cape Town. It is a little community where you will find absolutely nothing except for history. This church was erected in 1743 and still stands in it's original state today.

It's origin is Catholic and it is a pretty amazing work of art. There are 3 sections where the people could go upstairs to look down at the meeting from above. This section was reserved for women and children. The priest would go onto the podium and preach from the biggest Bible I have ever seen in my entire life!

As you can see by the size of the book compared to my hand, that thing was truly spectacular!

Yeah that book is really big. Look how things change, now we can store this much knowledge in a small usb, even far more than that.

Relics still matter even though the world's changed

Yes that is true... Innovation and ideas rules the world

Hey, @africaunited. This looks amazing, especially nature. Seen some of your posts recently - the flower one, and I am impressed by that and many others you had. Keep up with a great work. Mother nature should be preserved in the best way. (Y). Will be coming back. Cheeeers, @keyss.

How cool. Looks like a set from The Da Vinci Code.

Whoa!!! Thats one big book, still in good condition also :-)

The building is very beautiful

I would like to get one more detail... does the church still has a congregation that gather inside of that building ? your article reminds me some of the churches in western countries that have closed their doors as nowadays there are not congregation, due to the fact that people are more busy in business, forgetting their creator.
But anyway, we shall remember the purpose of building a church...

wow,,,really nice photography,i like it,,
