Rundetaarn
The Rundetaarn or round tower is one the most popular towers in Copenhagen, Denmark. It's construction was completed in the year 1642. The 34.8 metres bricked tower provides an excellent view of the city through an observation deck and a public astronomical observatory contained in a dome.
The morning was rather a gloomy one, as it had just rained the night before making it really cold and windy. The tower was just a few blocks away from the airbnb where I was staying which gave me some time to grab some delicious breakfast!
As I nearly strained my neck looking at the top most part of the tower, I was also wondering how beautiful it would look on a sunny day.. And how awesome it would be to take a spot and get some plein air art going ;)
The tower has 7 spiral ramps which have to be climbed up on foot as there are no elevators, which according to me is more fun! After a while it definitely seemed never ending but I enjoyed it throughout with my friend. There was a pretty interesting exhibition that day with few short movies on loop.
I got a few videos while climbing the ramps along with few seconds from the observatory deck. It was really windy for us in the interior as much as it was on the deck (noise in the video). Because of the air passing through the ramps right to the bottom! Unfortunately the coolest part of seeing through a telescope did not happen for us as November is out of the opening months. Still it felt amazing to see such a huge telescope in person for the first time!
