Akatsuki no Yona Cosgroup

We decided to cosplay characters from the anime Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn). It wasn't really planned but it was an impromptu plan. We just happened to meet up with each other and thought that the characters from the anime really fit for us. Basing everything on our personalities the characters really fit us like a glove. We were really excited to be part of a big group like this and it was a really thrilling experience to give life to such wonderful characters.

Experience

It's my second time being part of a cosplay group. I never thought I'd be able to experience something this fulfilling. This experience gave me a chance to meet more people in the otaku community here in Cebu. I learned so many things as I prepared for my character's costume.

I cosplayed Shin-Ah, the blue dragon, one of Yona's faithful friends. It was the most detailed costume I worked on. It had so many details to attend to. My skills in prop making were tested. I was also in a very tight budget at the time to I had to scrap through my wardrobe and look for usable materials in thrift shops just to lessen my expenses. But after all the effort I put into this cosplay I could say that I did a pretty good job at cost cutting and giving justice to some parts of him.

I know that I got a long long way to go before I get good at cosplay but with the help of the friends I made while cosplaying I can really go on with this hobby knowing that there are other people supporting me and giving me advice. I love cosplaying and I love the friends I made.
