How Japan looks like to a Japanese who lives abroad / 日本を離れた日本人の目から見た日本
It's been already five years since I left Japan and started living in the Netherlands. Before coming to Europe, I used to live in the city called Kanagawa in Japan, and the company I was working for was located in Tokyo (it's like 40-60min commute). Back then, I hated the crowded streets, packed trains and loud neon signs that you might have seen in one of those Japanese films.
日本を離れ、オランダに住み始めてから5年が経ちました。それまでは神奈川県に住みながら東京で働いていましたが、正直当時は、混み合った道路やぎゅうぎゅう詰めの電車、そしてうるさいネオンサインには嫌気がさしていました。
Strangely enough, however, through the course of five years, my view towards those things got completely changed. And every time I go back to Japan, I can't help being fascinated by the different faces the country has. In this post, I would like to share the pictures taken through the eyes of a Japanese guy who lives abroad.
でも不思議なもので、5年間日本を離れて生活するうちに私の“目”は変化し、日本という国が持つ様々な顔に魅了されるようになっていきました。この記事では、「日本を離れた日本人の目から見た日本」を共有できればと思います。

Great first post @atsushi! I predict you'll be very successful on the steem platform if you keep posting articles with such splendid pictures. They are all great, and I absolutely love the one taken on the narrow alley at night. 👍
Also, it's a sort of tradition on steemit to write a post tagged #introduceyourself to let people know more about you. You don't have to of course but it helps attracting more people to your posts and simply make connections with people alike.

ライデンには日本語科が有名なライデン大学がありまして、実は結構日本との距離が近いんですよね。ぜひお友達とも交流できればと思います。

Hey @Atsushi. Really beautiful pictures. I will be following you for more. I would love to see how your photographic style looks like on a totally different city like Amsterdam (I've only been there once).
I am European (French) living in Japan for a bit more than 10 years now, so I can totally relate to your experience, just kinda the other way around. Funny how the perspective you have on your own country can changes after a few years abroad. Countries actually tend to slowly but steadily change over the years also.

It's funny that although I created my steemit account while ago, I actually started using it a few days back but I already know people like you who is living in Japan, @mathowl who spent some time in Japan, and also @jalayn who's a Japanese learner.
Indeed, it's surprising how you can be/feel left out of changes within your own culture by just spending some time abroad!
