Photography: summer in the venezuelan low plains (II)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemits! I bring you the second part of this travel and photographic experience of the venezuelan low plains in the summer...

What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow
Out of this stony rubbish? Son of man,
You cannot say, or guess, for you know only
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief
And the dry stone no sound of water.
T. S. Eliot, The Wastelands

One of the most striking things of the summer in the low plains is the decay represented in part by the corpses of the animals, you can find them in all places. Those remains are not removed by the people in charge of the ranch.

I specialize in photograph small details, things that most of the people don't notice, so it was a great opportunity to try to communicate what I was feeling: loneliness, devastation, sadness and beauty...

A little contradictory, right?

So there we were, the staff of the ranch have a truck where the drive the tourists around most of the place, an extension of the approximately 130169 acres. Of course, they let you walk around in the vast space, out of danger, and that's how I obtained these intimate details, a different stare of this special ranch. And that's what I search for with my photos, an intimate and different with the subject / object.
