My South African Photography: Three Rondavels
In the province of Mpumalanga (Place of the Rising Sun in the isiZulu language) the Northern Drakensberg mountain range ends in an escarpment. At this point, the natural formation is called the Blyde River Canyon.
We took a trip out there for a mini break and I wanted to share some views in my contuining theme of showing off how beautiful South Africa is.
This is an HDR (high dynamic range) composition of three shots I took with my Canon 7D. The photographs were take in raw format. If anyone wants the details of the exposures for the three shots that made this up - send me a message.
The formation is found on the eastern side of the country. Click here for a link to the location.
The name comes from the name of a traditional dwelling in South Africa (a rondavel). They are quite similar looking to this type of home.
To the left of these formations the escarpment falls off sharply to this view:
Another HDR shot of the view.
This is the first of many in My South African Photography - I hope you will enjoy them.
