I won't be around for a while...steemCreated with Sketch.

Hello friends!

Just in case you are wondering why I'm not posting ....

I had cataract surgery the other day on one eye and I am finding it difficult to see with unbalanced vision. My left eye won't be repaired until November 21st.

Wearing my glasses with one lens popped out isn't working for me. So I've opted to stay off the computer because it's frustrating — I want to interact with you and post. I can't use my camera yet either nor even choose a decent photo from my files.

I'm trying to find things to do to keep me busy but I'm limited. I'm left wondering what a blind person would do without their sight.

I am very grateful for corrective lenses prior to the surgery. I can't imagine what life would be like without the hope of improved vision.

See you in December.....

I am wishing you the best and the fastest recovery that is possible. I know how hard is beeing without this amazing community. Hopefully you will have a lot to tell us when you come back. Try spend your time listening to some good music and let you eyes resting for a while. Lots of love.🥀

We never appreciate things until they're gone. :) Here's hoping to a successful procedure, quick recovery, and getting back to doing what you love.

OMG - Mere!!! John said you two were chatting. I'll have to find you when I can see straight or unipolar....or onesies or something.

I'm back...for now. I really need to give you both my contact info. <3
It hurts a little trying to fit Steemit and WriMo in but I'm gonna try.
So I have to ask you - when did push come to shove where you said, "That's it! I need the surgery."

My nose is almost at the screen so I can't answer you about all that.....love to talk later. What's the link to where you hang out? I'll look for you there. :)

Right now I'm in Discord under the Tradeqwik trollbox but the new forum is at https://forum.vivaco.in
I'm about to do a write up for it and see if we can't scare up a few more people to check it out. :)

Praying for a speedy recovery, Ms Deb. We love you. 🙏

Hoping you have a speedy recovery.

Thank you @whatsup, very kind of you.

Hello, dear...

Praying all went well for you today, and looking forward to your return.

😄😇😄

@creatr

Thanks @creatr....I can see! Thank you so much for remembering me today. I did well. I'm just finishing my drops for the night and about to put on my eye patch. I kept an "eye" on some posts but couldn't type a comment....loved your haiku re anxiety. A word fitly spoken for sure.

Thank you, @countrygirl.

So glad to hear that things went well! Take good care of yourself, and get back to posting really soon... ;)

BTW, I'm jazzed recently - have gotten a real boost from a relatively new writers' group here on Steemit. Thanks to John's and their encouragement, I'm starting to write more fiction, and penning some things that have rattled my brain for decades... :D

Cheers!

That's great to hear!!! I'll keep an eye out - well two eyes now. :)

Best wishes, my friend, for the soon to come balancing of your vision, and for a full and speedy recovery. I look forward to your return.

😄😇😄

@creatr

Hey, Deb, I was wondering what you've been up to. Wishing you a fast recovery! :)

I'm glad I wrote this post then. I always wonder when someone is gone for a few days too. I'll look for you when Im recovered. :)

It's important to recover well, our vision is so important! Hope you find something fun to do as an alternative (and let us know after!).

BTW, love the photo of the mantle - makes me nostalgic for snow and pines

I'm surprised you even posted this much today - December, huh...we'll see :)

Well, you should see the nose marks on my screen, then you'd know how.....:)

My grandfather never got his cataracts fixed and he watched tv with binoculars, from the other room! Absolutely no question where I inherited my stubbornness...
