I ALMOST GOT TAKEN OUT BY A MORPHO PELEIDES
We escaped the 30 degree Michigan weather inside the Frederick Meijer Garden 85 degree atrium. Each year in the early spring, the atrium is filled with butterflies. I tried so hard to capture the elusive blue morpho peleides and could only capture them with their wings closed (aka no vibrant blue showing). But one did swoop down in front of my face and almost took me out. If the butterfly didn't get me, the sudden 85 degree weather with humidity would've eventually. We're not used to it- it's been a brutal winter...
Great photos - and one of them had a butterfly in it, too! Alas, just not the one I was wanting to see (I googled it).
And how does a butterfly nearly take you out? Unless it's very heavily armed / proficient in unarmed combat. Which I very much doubt one would ever be. ;)
Thank you! I know, I really wanted to capture the bright blue butterfly but the atrium was so crowded I would've taken people out with my camera while chasing it. I would never want to accuse a butterfly of having bad intentions, but the way this butterfly aggressively swooped across the path an inch from my face...I was almost butterfly kissed to death! ;)
