Massachusetts Wildlife
A small town in Western Massachusetts, called Granville, is home to an abundance of wildlife. Nestled nicely in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountain range, Granville is a quaint little farming community.
These pictures were all taken on a wooded property at about 1400' elevation. The land is host to black bears, whitetail deer, turkey, moose, raccoons, bobcat, coyote, and more. Any given day you're likely to see something.
The winters here can be tough, with big snowstorms. This makes most animals that much tougher. Generally they pack on weight all year, just to make it through winter.
Theres lots of natural food in the area. Wild blueberries and blackberries are scattered everywhere. Local farmers grow corn and field grasses, and theres plenty of acorns falling from the oak trees.
Nice wildlife photos.
Thanks
I don’t think I would survive too long in a place like that - I’d be wanting to cuddle all the baby bears and bobcats :-D Love the photos - how lucky are those of us who get to live close to nature <3
You'd survive just fine. They dont intend to harm us, 99.999% of the time. Its an amazing thing watching them in their natural habitat.
