djm34: Vape it and steem it
Hello everyone,
Until last mid January, I was a rather heavy smoker with about 2 packs a day, then I decided to switch (can't really say stop yet) to vaping. Since then, I haven't smoked a cigarette. :)
To be honest, I was really doubtful that it could work, I tried a couple of time with some others e-cigarette (those they make 10 years ago looked like real cigarette... actually they didn't work reliably, the vape was coming out whenever it was feeling like... piece of crap...)
Following some advices I went for a box mod where it is possible to adjust the power sent to the coil of the e-cig and chose how much vapor to inhale. I chose a vtc e-vic mini(well remind me of the coin ;) mod box from joyetech. This one can deliver up to 75W to the coil.
That box mod allow to use various type of vaporizer, the first one sold with the box mod was a tron, the coil needs to be changed once in a while and e-juice needed to be filled from the back. The problem is that it was leaking a lot and changed soon to a new model still from joyetech: the cubis. It is still the one I use the most.
In terms of e-juice, I didn't want to stay with tobacco flavor because it doesn't really feel like tobacco and I think it is better to go to something different.
So far I use mostly fruit and/or minty taste juice (I haven't tried yet those e-juice with cookie smell or stuff like that).
Here a few photo of some I use (yeah they have nice design and packaging too :) )
Actually my preferred e-juice is the "freezy mango" from fcukin'flava (some Malaysian company) very fresh taste.
I started e-juice with a content up to 18mg of nicotine, but at the moment the liquid I use contained between 3 and 6mg of nicotine.
Beside the cubis with interchangeable coil, I also tried the dripper, it is an atomizer with a reconstructible coil. It means, that instead of buying pre-build interchangeable coil, you use cotton and actually wire to make yourself your coil. That's the small atomizer on the first photo. It has a great taste but rebuilding can take some times and as it runs at 60watts the battery does last as long (however the main incovenient is to reconstruct the coil... ).
I also tried new technology, the ceramic coil which can last 6months with the krixus, it has a nice taste too however it is leaking all over the place and the mod box tends to overheat, so nice design but doesn't work really well.
Ok that was a very short intro to vaping (at least from my view).

Thanks for the helpful post, I'm a smoker wanting to do what you've done. I ordered a basic kit to try vaping and I'm really hoping i'll be able to quit smoking this way. Could you tell me more about how it was to switch? Was it difficult to stick to vaping rather than lighting up a smoke? Also, good on you :)
the first days, it was quite complicated, I still had a few packs of cigarettes when I stopped, and I was still smoking one or two from time to time when I was stressed, and I must admit I smoked all the cigarettes I had left before going full vaping but I didn't rebuy any.
It still require an effort to completely stop smoking, but it isn't as hard as just stopping. Don't hesitate to use the high nicotine dosage e-juice at the beginning and decrease gradually to lower content e-juice.
Should buy myself some too :D
BTW, anyone know why e-cigarettes are still prohibited on the plane?
actually, e-cigarettes is getting prohibited in more and more place, now considering the large cloud you can make with some e-cigarette, I don't think it would be really enjoyable to non vaper. (not that the smell has anything to do with tobacco..) Also since some e-juice still contains nicotines, they want to apply similar restrictions as those applied to standard cigarettes
Using this logic they should prohibit people using perfumes lol
Sometimes people using perfumes smell disgusting!
