If God is not a Tarheel, then why's the sky Carolina Blue? - Color Challenge - Blue - Friday

Growing up on "Tobacco Road" I heard that phrase a million times if I heard it once. But what would you expect when you were right in the middle of one of the oldest rivalries in sports, the Duke University Blue Devils and the University of North Carolina Tarheels.

These two schools have been battling it out on the hardwood since 1920 when the Tarheels defeated the Blue Devils 36 to 25 and it has been a slug fest ever since, with Carolina winning six* NCAA championships and Duke winning five.

However, make no mistake this rivalry is older and deeper than any meeting ever played at Cameron Indoor Stadium, home of the Cameron Crazies or the Dean Dome which is named after Dean Smith, the man who literally changed the way college basketball is played today. These two elite universities, and I do mean elite, are located less than ten miles apart and they compete in every thing that they do both athletically and academically.

Now for me personally, I could care less about either of these schools because . . .

I be a Pirate from East Carolina University and plundered and pillaged both of their campuses on more than one occasion.

However, I digress. I took this unaltered photograph of the blue North Carolina sky yesterday with my Kodak M1033 camera while on my daily walk through the woods after a beautiful winter snowfall.
