Street Photography In my City of Lagos, Nigeria : Series 2

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Hello friends; steemians, I'm here with the second episode of my street photography series. Just in case you didn't see the first episode, you can catch up with it here

So, I thought i needed to say a little about where our photo story is starting from today. The computer village as is called is a technology hub and is the largest computer accesories market in Africa. Aside from what you'll see on the streets, there are a lot going on in the shops all around creating one technological related service or the other. Foreigners coming into the country with tech in mind dare not play with this market.

Nice walk through and nice shots too

  • that peksi, lol 😂

Haha! That name got registered when I used to take a route like that everyday. The lady selling Pepsi would always pronounce it that way.

Oh my Lagos!!!

Your pictures and narration made me remembered the jolly time I had in Lagos back then.

I remembered getting scammed 3 times in a single day at west minister apapa.
It was not a pleasant experience.

I think I will write a blog post about it someday

Oh! sorry about that bro. The wolfs are out here at some points looking for whom to devour. I've had my fair share of this too. My phone has been "obtained" from me twice before. When I got a new one, similar attempts for which I discovered the others were taken were tried on me. Come and see how agressive I was to the guy making the attempt. Above all though, Lagos is cool and fine; just be vigilant and you'll survive.

Thanks bro,
I actually deserved that lesson lol.

Nice pix.

I have been to computer village a couple of times. One thing I respect the place for is how cheap their goods are services are. But you have to shine your eyes sha.

I see some improvements though. The market is not as rowdy as it used to be in the past or maybe the shops are yet to open as I can see some stacked up furnitures.

Sometimes I wonder if there is a place in the city of lagos where there is no street trading and littered surroundings. That would be a beauty to behold.

But you have to shine your eyes sha.

That above is the main deal my man. You could easily be swindled by those guys on the streets. I think the rule of thumb is to deal with proper shops and not guys hanging around. There is a higher probability you are dealing with the correct persons like that.

Bro, The market is still as rowdy as it should be o... I didn't add/take a shot of that point you have people moving up and down.. couldn't raise my camera too high. Also, I went close to some minutes after 6pm and so, many shops had clossed by then.

There are places in Lagos where street trading is not rampant, but of cause, it's not what defines Lagos as the "rugged" city for all. The Lagos Islands could be an example, but of cause, that only forms a smaller percentage of Lagos. The Mega city initiative too is taking street trading off gradually.Infact, there was a point in which a legislation was made against street traders and even those that petronise them. My picture story would take us there soon, so just stay tuned.

Nice and beautiful street of Lagos. Omo, Lagos na better hustling area. Nigerians aren't lazy, working there bones out, to make a living and to better their future.

There is also a 3C Hub here in uyo here, and itooLA as if there products are quite cheaper.
Beautiful pics taken by your gopro 5. Your camera sharp die @dorth

Haha! Thanks bro. Thanks to the default picture editor on my Samsung tab that helps me have a brighter theme different from the gopro theme and still maintain good quality.

3CHub is actually my first go to place for phone purchase and all. Just got some trust there and of cause, their prices ain't cut throat.

Yeah you are right man.. They are really reliable, man, and they really have good phones.I do really love your post and articles. I look forward to meeting you when am in Lagos.

When I show Abeg me, safety dey your hands oo. Would be a pleasure seeing your car tires around my blog man😁😁!! Stay good man.

Haha! Your last statement is funny, didn't get it at first. I'm sorry would try and frequent your side more... I remember I've been there before.... Stay great bro.

Thanks bro.. Stay great bro. And have fun.lets make steemjet great. As we are now, we are it's ambassadors @dorth
