I have been loving shooting with my Nishika N8000 camera lately. I love how it can take really energetic photos and re-create the energy in a gif, or how it transforms the quirky or ordinary into lasting moods.

So, last Friday, when I heard about this show happening I was stoked. I had some friend's bands on the bill, and had also seen the band Homewrecker a year prior in Tampa when they were on tour with Merauder and they were pretty sick. I work with a lot of bands that play to huge crowds with extravagant production, and that's cool, but there will always be something about seeing a hardcore or metal band in a dive bar that is special.

*This flyer sucks, I didn't make it.

I was working editing a film at my office about five blocks away and I knew I had to go shoot the show. It really worked out, I still had time to finish work and head to the show since the venue was so close. Now let me tell you about Uncle Lou's. It's basically just a room. I'm not sure if the official them was "Make it feel like its your cool Uncle Lou's house that let's you and your friends drink and play music in his garage", but that is exactly what it is.

I got there just in time to see my friend Will's band Scatter Shot play. They're XL dudes playing some XL beatdown. Super heavy mosh music essentially.

Will, Super nice guy.

Up next was Homewrecker, and they did not disappoint. They play a mix of Death Metal, Thrash, Hardcore, and grind. It was really intense and by this point the crowd was pretty loose.

Andrew and Brian, friends of mine.

After the show we walked down the block for vegan asian tacos at Tako Cheena. All in all, a great Friday night.
