After talking to this good looking Russian woman, I became convinced that Geek Culture was on it's way down. I noted the lack of her Dragoncon pass. And while Dragoncon has hired an event staff to stop outsiders from prowling con grounds, the intent here is what I am talking about that has degraded the whole #Geek thing. She told me she was not into the #geek world but she was a model who wanted to make a name for herself as a cosplayer. She was very matter-of-fact about it all. And her attitude is a good example of the "fake geek girl" type that has infested the SciFi con scene and made a profession out of what used to be a fan based endeavor. And it's also clear to see she bought this costume and didn't make it. A few years ago, I saw a guy in a new-look Aquaman costume. And when I asked him if he made it himself, he unironically told me he bought it. Thus is the current state of Geekdom. They've turned creative geeks into a predominantly unthinking mindless consumer-based dweebs and star-fawning idiots. With that said though, I cannot blame this Russian woman for not understanding what American geek culture was. And the fact she saw an opportunity to further her career by taking advantage of the geek world, I think is in and of itself a classic American business spirit. And she was actually very pleasant and nice to talk with.

Shiny boobs! No idea what this is supposed to be. But it's sexy. And well, sadly, it's another indication of #Geek culture going down the tubes and giving into the sexism that Hollywood pushes, yet virtue signals against.

Very sexy! But, these women seem more like they should be at EDM not a sci-fi con like Dragoncon. Yet another indicator of how Dragoncon continues to cater to the rave crowd and less and less to the geeks. And I also think this dynamic has led to the increased violence at Dragoncon as the insecure geeks lash out at any man who has any social dynamics and steals attention away from them. The sexuality at Dragoncon has increased to a point to where I heard one con-goer comment that Dragoncon is now a "fetish con".
