What is "Chromatic Aberration"
What is Chromatic Aberration?
Chromatic aberration, often abbreviated as CA, is a purple and yellow fringing in images taken with refracting lenses. This occurs when a dark area of the image is met with a light area, or the other way around. The light travels at different speeds through the lens, therefore separating it and leading to the fringing.
What can help reduce it?
Special optics, such as ED glass, Achromatic and Apochromatic lenses, and corrective lenses can all help reduce chromatic aberration.
