Yikes, snake!
While taking a hike along the Cedar Creek in Virginia I spotted this fellow slithering down the creek. He's not as big he seems, this is a zoom in shot.
A picture of the creek. The snake is somewhere in this picture. I think at this point he had moved on into the leaves and mud, so he blends in well. I'm just glad I wasn't wading in the creek at the time.
