I COME FROM THE LAND OF ICE AND SNOW - PART DEUX
So one week after we had an ice and snow storm we had another snow and ice storm. I specifically worded it that way because the first storm was ice that turned into snow while this storm was snow that turned into ice.
It makes for some beautiful scenery so I thought I would share some pictures with you all.
You can see the four-wheeler tracks in the snow - my neighbor was having some fun ;)
Directly behind me is this beautiful oak tree
On my way to work I stopped to get a couple of shots of this tree along the driveway.
I hope you all enjoy the photos.
I agree it "can" be beautiful but I'm at the point where it is going to be March next week soooooo time for winter to go away and bring on Spring!!!
Shalom!
I could not agree more but winter will do what winter will do, and all I can do is try to enjoy it as much as possible.

Howdy sir hhayweaver! Thanks for the great photos! Dang, Spring has to be on the way soon doesn't it? Too long and too cold. lol.
Yeah, spring fever is setting pretty hard about now, but usually we don't see spring-like weather until April around here.
Oh, we just got another snow storm yesterday day (about 6") and we are looking at more snow tonight (4"-8"). That should put the skids to the spring fever for a bit, hehe ;)
holy moly sir hhayweaver! That's incredible! wow. I guess you guys are used to it but do you ever get snowed in?
And does the heavy snows affect your business?
Occasionally we get snowed in for a day or two. Back in in 1996 we got over 36" of snow in about 12 hours and we where snowed in for almost a week.
It defiantly affects our business we do a lot of crane work and heavy lifting of machinery and steel which requires us to be up off the ground a lot and we can't do that in the snow.
Howdy again sir hhayweaver! wow, so what happens in the winter, you just get jobs back logged?
36 inches! Were you guys prepared for that with plenty of supplies?
Yes exactly the schedule just gets pushed back, which tends to make things a little hectic for a while but it all works out in the end.
We were well provisioned for sure but things started to get a little tight at the end, thank god the plows finally came through.
howdy tonight sir hhayweaver! Do you guys have your own truck or tractor to remove some snow if it isn't like 36 inches? lol.
We do, we have a couple of tractors with back mounted plows but the best is a small Kabota tractor with a front mounted snow blower, that really chews through the snow. It is 48" wide so I can open my driveway in 3 passes and best of all now plow banks ;)
