Beauty of the Ozarks: 7/2/17
The wife and I hate keeping the kids couped up. So we went on an adventure to our favorite park! We took a guided tour of the area and visited all the gardens, where we learned the history of each site. This is one of my favorite places in the whole world.
This first area is near the back of the park and is just so bright and full of color. There were people sitting and talking under the gazebo - which thankfully was not angry today.
This was directly behind us as we rode along. Though they look like overgrowth, these are tended and planted just like the flowers and went on over the hill.
This is the very first house built in the region, over 200 years ago! I know for my global readers that's not a lot, but it's interesting for us. The other building is a schoolhouse, and the tall bird houses are to attract chimneysnipes that need unique houses like this to nest.
The park actually maintains a Japanese stroll garden with our sister city. It was founded in the 80's and the original master Gardener still comes by to inspect it.
Thanks for joining me and my family on our little adventure today!
