Aloft @ Panama – SPG Life – Platinum gift

Welcome to the Aloft @ Panama City! As an SPG Platinum member I get a few perks every now and then and this is a tribute to one of them. The little cheese/fruit plate and a letter from the staff welcoming me. I really like this small gesture and definitively a good snack to have when you’re arriving and might need to recharge quickly. Now, I like all SPG hotels and what the Aloft is set apart from the rest the SPG branded hotels here in Panama is… Price! It was the lowest price of them all (at the time of the post) but the best part is… if you have points this hotel only costs 2,000 SPG points! The cheapest category 1 and truly it is a very good bang for your buck. As any Aloft wanna be W hotel, the lobby wants to be a night club and sometimes they have events or concerts. I’ve only come across one but who knows… you may be lucky!

What I like about this hotel:

  • Points cost
  • Connected to the Sheraton and access to all their restaurants and shops
  • Free parking garage for guests
  • Only Casino I've made money in Panama
  • Can walk to several restaurants in the area

What I don’t like about this hotel:

  • No suite upgrades
  • Beds are harder / less comfy than the Sheraton or Westin
  • If you are frugal and paying with points, this is the hotel to stay at when in Panama City!

If you want to see the full size picture or other pictures I’ve taken, you can go ahead and click the image which will take you to my website!

Here is a top view of the welcome gift plate so you can appreciate better the cheese lol

Would love to visit Panama City one day

If you do, don't forget to check out the beaches like Bocas del Toro

wow photo is very good .
i want to take picture like you haha respect u
thank u so much i am gonna follow u

Awesome, thanks for the follow! I am going to confess, most of the magic is the iPhone doing the blurred background and what not. But it took me like 10 shots to get to this one and trying several different locations in the room trying to get the best lighting and background. A lot of effort goes into it, including from the image processing chip in the phone, lol. Thanks again for your kind comments and for following me up!

Oh, and the staff for providing the inspiration/subject of the picture!

thank you so much have a nice day

In my opinion, this plate is really treat on Welcome and everything placed in an way that, it automatically reflecting the pleasing effect in our eyes. Many hotels have their own way to welcome some give sweets and some give the free passes for some stuff but, this gesture is so welcoming and once we treated like this then for sure an bonding born and this way long term relationships are maintained, and i definitely believe that this process will help in the Customer Retention Programme. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Indeed, different hotels have different ways to make us feel more "at home." At the Sheraton next door during the turndown service you get little chocolates like you said, which is also common at the St. Regis and at some Marriotts. Although to be honest my best experiences have been with Le Meriden and with St. Regis. Le Meriden has some fancier treats with hand written notes while the St. Regis even got me tickets to a local concert once in Houston! Too bad I don't get that spoiled anymore though.

Great to hear more from you. Thank you. 🙂

Thanks for your kind words but I am very far from being the best... this is still a hobby but hope I can continue to hone my craft and take better pictures!

Their beds look nice which makes for a good picture. The Aloft isn't an elegant hotel per say though, it is on the lower end of the SPG brand of hotels so it is more of a business hotel. If you want to see elegance, look for the St. Regis brand which is on the high end of the SPG branded properties. Next time I stay at one I'll post some pics!

You may have loved various points but I loved the pictures

Glad you liked it!
