An Indian street wedding - PHOTOGRAPHY

in #photography7 years ago

These are some photographs i took while visiting India in 2016, whenever i end up in India which is every 1 or 2 years i always make sure i stay at my Grandmas. We have a house in the city which is cool and there is always something to do but i like my Grandmas house which is just outside of the city in a small village. The people there are always playing games in the streets and the whole area has a really good vibe to it, everyone knows everyone and you kind of wake up to random things every morning. To my surprise one day i woke up to find a full blown wedding on my door step. For real i walked straight into the wedding they had it on the streets. It was cool to see as i've photographed countless weddings in the UK and they are always so extravagant and planned, this was just all about everyone in the local area coming together and enjoying two people getting married. I also usually witness brides spend hours getting their make up and hair done in this case it was just some family members who put the whole look together. Even more surprising was when the brother of the bride pulled out some foam spray and went berserk on everyone. Actually the bigger surprise was that the groom had been carrying two spray bottles in his blazer pocket all day waiting in standby for this moment haha.

I was just taking photographs from the sidelines but i ended up getting dragged into the carnage also.
