Photography, Design and Editing on the iPad Pro with iPadOS13

Photoshop has been a part of my life for more than half my life. I started on Adobe Photoshop 4.0 when I was 13 years old. Ever since, I’ve been fortunate to grow with the technology. They say my generation is the last generation to experience life with and without the internet.

When I first got into design work, I never cared about photography. It wasn’t until almost 27 years later that they made apps like Camera+ (one of the original mobile photo editing apps.) Once mobile editing apps were available on the iPhone, although it wasn’t Photoshop, I adapted quickly. I already knew what Hue/Saturation, Contrast, Exposure and all of these tools were — because of Photoshop.

Once I was able to edit images on the go and without a computer, it sparked my interest. It was a natural progression for me to get into photography. Fast forward until today, and now we have iPad Pros, OS 13, dark mode and a bunch of even better apps. It’s a fun and exciting time to be a designer / photographer and digital nomad.

I’ll be honest, ever since 2017, I got into crypto pretty heavy and I gravitated towards it and left photography behind. I haven’t had a passion for photography in a long time. However, after purchasing my iPad Pro and Apple finally opening up the file system to import and download files, it’s a game changer. There’s some pretty amazing apps out there now, too.

I think this new workflow may have just inspired me to get back into photography again.
