He died in the most absolute poverty, hit by a tram, without anyone realizing, in reality, who that genius was who was dying, martyred by pain, in the dark and lonely room of a hospital. However, Fate, that Joker with ambivalent intentions and feudal manners, could not prevent his work from going unnoticed. So, it could be said that, according to this poetic metaphor of compensation, it is precisely his work that has truly granted Gaudí the privilege of immortality.

They say, and I also believe it, that Gaudí was, like many others before him, an architect of God. And as such, a deep connoisseur of the language and way of expressing it: Sacred Geometry. Therefore, to see the immeasurable beauty of Gaudí's work is to also see God's confidences materializing through his hand. It is surrendering to the evidence that, like the great mystics of the Middle Ages, it was the Enlightenment, which, after all, materialized in an architecture, capable, over the centuries, of surprising and above all, the main thing, to move.

Murió en la más absoluta de las pobrezas, arrollado por un tranvía, sin que nadie se percatara, en realidad, de quién era ese genio que agonizaba, martirizado por el dolor, en la oscura y solitaria habitación de un hospital. Sin embargo, el Destino, ese Joker de intenciones ambivalentes y modales feudales, no puedo evitar que su obra pasara desapercibida. De manera, que podría decirse, que, de acuerdo con esa metafórica poética de la compensación, es precisamente su obra la que verdaderamente le ha otorgado a Gaudí el privilegio de la inmortalidad.

Dicen y yo así también lo creo, que Gaudí fue, como muchos otros antes que él, un arquitecto de Dios. Y como tal, un profundo conocedor de su lenguaje y manera de expresarse: la Geometría Sagrada. Por lo tanto, ver la inconmensurable belleza de la obra de Gaudí, es ver, también, las confidencias de Dios materializándose a través de su mano. Es rendirse a la evidencia de que, al igual que los grandes místicos de la Edad Media, fue la Iluminación, la que, después de todo, se materializó en una arquitectura, capaz, al cabo de los siglos, de sorprender y sobre todo, lo principal, de conmover.
