Greenland - the island, lapped by the Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. It is the largest island of the Earth. It is entirely covered with ice. On its surface has many glaciers, which sometimes break off from the rather large icebergs.

The city of Ilulissat, Greenland. Against the background of houses can be seen as enormous these frozen white structure.

40-kilometer fjord of Ilulissat, filled with icebergs from the glacier sliding Sermeq Kudzhallek having a width of about 5 km and thickness of the ice at the bottom of about 150 meters, is the most productive in the Northern Hemisphere. In 2004 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Translated from the Greenlandic word "Ilulissat" means "icebergs."
