Beautiful Wales.. Pistyll Rhaeadr, Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant, Powys, Wales UK (one for the Whales ;-) )
We went for a lovely walk to Pistyll Rhaeadr , Powys, Wales. Took some photos with my Moto G phone! Not the clearest or best pictures in the world but just wanted to show people the wonderful natural beauty of this magnificent waterfall.
Pistyll Ryder is the tallest waterfall in England and Wales it falls 240ft (73m) in three impressive stages and forms a river known as the Afon Rhaeadr. The waterfall originates from a spectacular mountain range named the Berwyn mountains which covers 93 square miles. The highest mountain point stands at 2,723ft (830m) on Cadair Berwyn.
And this wouldn't be Wales without a Dragon legend! Gwybr of Llanrhaeadr is said to have lived in a lake above the waterfall named Llyn Luncaws. The dragon is said to have flown down to take children, women and animals from the village below and back to the lake to be eaten!
Speaking of dragon legends, it occurs to me that Daenarys from Game of Thrones must represent the Welsh in the story. (The Scots are the wildlings).
Lovely waterfall BTW :-)
Beautiful places thanks for a photo
