Spreading over 11,000 square kilometers (4,200 square miles), Jasper National Park is the largest National Park in Canada. 27 miles south of the small town of Jasper, Maligne Lake (pictured here) is the crown jewel of the Canadian landscape. It is a great place to take a boat trip, or enjoy some of the local hikes. While admiring the landscape, keep an eye out for grizzly and black bear, mule deer, caribou, moose, mountain sheep, and even wolves, which all frequent the lake’s shore in the Summer season. Catching this lake in the early morning or evening, when the mountains are lit up in gold is a must do for any visit to the Canadian Rockies.
