When the Cheetah Tries to Eat the Lamb
It’s the duty of every cat in the kingdom to teach their young how to hunt. This video highlights how efficient and skilled the young quickly become.
Predators also hunt along tar roads, as their victims might not always find it so easy to get a grip, making them slip and become vulnerable targets.
Reto Schmidlin told Latestsightings.com how the scene played out: “I was on a short game drive with my brother near Shingwedzi, when we saw a large herd of impalas snorting and making very prominent alarm calls. This was a strong indication to us that a predator was nearby, and maybe even on the hunt!"
"Out of nowhere, we saw two cheetahs sprint out of the bushes and begin hunting the herd. I thought we had lost them after a few moments when they went out of sight. It was only after we started driving again when we saw the cheetah lying in the middle of the road with an impala. We were so excited at our luck of having this happen to us and also so close to the road. My hands were trembling out of excitement during the whole sighting.
And the noises from the Impala was making us tremble more!"
"While it was one of the best sightings I've had, it was hard to watch how the cheetahs took down this impala."
