More Pictures From Maine

@purplepencilgirl and I left Maine this morning.

We had a wonderful time with our friends there, and we're stoked that we ventured farther north on this trip than either of us has ever been before. Today we are staying with friends in Boston, Massachusetts, and we'll be doing some sightseeing here tomorrow, so I'll probably be posting some photos. But for now I want to show you some of the gorgeous ocean scenery I got to see yesterday in Camden, Maine.

We went there for a sailing festival. There was supposed to be a regatta, but I think we got there too late to see it. There were still a lot of sailboats in the harbor, though, as you'll see in the photos. Once we realized we'd missed the regatta, we left the harbor area and drove to Mount Battie, a state park where you can drive up to the top of a small mountain that offers views for miles out to sea and all around.

Here are the pictures I captured, both at the harbor and on the top of Mount Battie.

This tower sits on the top of Mount Battie. Tourists and sightseers can climb a set of spiral stairs to the top of the tower, extending the view a bit. The kids (who are avid Monty Python fans) used this opportunity to shout French insults at me, advising me to "go away, or we shall taunt you a second time!"

This last photo was not taken in Camden, but in front of a community center in another coastal town whose name I can't recall.

Ah, you were up in my quaint little corner of the country. Well, I'm not from Maine, but a nearby state that used to own Maine. Isn't it lovely up there. I hope you enjoyed.

Wait - how long will you be in Boston?

We were only there for about 36 hours. Not really time enough to meet up with anyone, other than the friends we stayed with. I thought about you while I was walking around the city, though!

Rats. Sorry to have missed you!

love the 3rd and 4th pics, did you try a good lobster roll yet? 👍

Our gracious host made us some homemade lobster rolls, and we approved!
