Town at Night - LessHorrible Photo

Hey there,

This is a nightscape of a small town in central Germany in the middle of the night. We were trying to find a good lookout spot to see a comet fly by. This picture was taken from a lookout tower on a hill outside the town.

At this point I have never taken a night-time photo and did not really know how to edit low-light images.

However, I like the way it turned out. It is not an ultra-crisp image my DLRC could take, but I do like the pencil-drawing look I got. Part of the fascination with black and white photography is the light and the different shades of grey you get.

I have not yet the chance to take any more nightscapes but will definitely pursue this a bit more in the future.
