Gliding Between The Clouds
Gliding between the clouds
Hey Followers,
It has been a long time I have posted anything. The times are hectic and I have been lacking ideas what to tell or show You, Peeps. I'm so glad that there is now a lot more of you than before, I thought my following will never grow a single bit. Big big thanks for that!
Let's get to the main topic. I wanted to share with you the day we went on a helicopter ride around my hometown and the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. It was just amazing. The pictures are taken at the time the snow was still present.
On the first picture, you can see my girl and the chopper we flew with. It was so much fun and I can not thank my friend enough for being a superb pilot. In the second picture, you can see Tallinn Oldtown in the wintertime and in the third picture, the snow has already melted. The pictures aren't the best because I am not a very good photographer and I took them on my phone.
A little bit about once the tallest building in the world
The tallest tower you can see on the right side in both of the pictures is called St Olaf's Church. In 1590, the total height of the church tower was 115.35–125 m. The tower has been hit by lightning around 10 times, and the whole church has burned down three times throughout its known existence. According to sources it was the tallest building in the world from 1549 to 1625, but this claim is controversial: one account of the final rebuilding states the church was formerly "ten fathoms" higher, but paintings depict a spire similar in proportions to the current one; moreover, several different fathoms were in use in Estonia at the time and it is uncertain which was meant. After several rebuildings, its spire is now 123.8 meters tall. It is fascinating how something like that was built, but there are even crazier objects in the world so whatever.
Peeps, that is it for this post. Hope it was at least a little interesting for you and see you guys really soon!
PEACE!
