in #photography7 years ago

Hello people,

I want to talk to you about czech jewels and why are they so important to our nation and tell you something about the history and even show you photos that I took during the visit.

What are czech crown jewels

The set of crown jewels includes:

St. Wenceslas Crown

The crown is the oldest and most precious out of all the jewels. The crown was made in 1346 for Karel Lucemburský.

Royal scepter

It was made by Hans Heller for king Ferdinand II. in 1533.

Royal apple

It was made in 1527 for Ferdinand I.

Coronation coat

It was made in 1617 for Ferdinand II.

Let's skip the boring part

Something about the History

During the WWII, Czechoslovakia was invaded by the Nazi's and we became Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. There is a legend about the Wenceslas crown and that is when someone who is not worthy of the crown, takes the crown and place it on his head, he will die within the year and that is what Reinhard Heydrich the "protector" of czechoslovakia did, and indeed you guessed right, he died later that year. He was assasinated by Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš on May 27 1942, you maybe saw the film Anthropoid, which is the name of the operation.

Thank you for reading here is my photo that i took on January 18th during the visit.
