100,000 Monks

The ceremony, like no other, 100,000 monks gathered to receive alms in a magnificent and Humongous Wat Phra Dhammakaya Buddhist temple in Klong Luang district, located only 16 km from Bangkok International Airport, Thailand.
Giving alms is a centuries-old tradition, where devotees provide the monks with material goods, mainly food products for their main meals. Traditionally, walking in single file, the monks leave their monasteries, carrying their alms bowls waiting devotees filling. It is believed that the monks have a responsibility to support the return of spiritual devotees, as they are supported with food.
