Small World - Tiny spider between the petals of the marigolds - Original macro photography

in #photography8 years ago

While playing with my new macro lens-reversal ring, I decided I wanted to see a close-up of some marigold flowers growing in our backyard. When I got right up next to the flower with the camera, I noticed a tiny little spider between the petals!

Now I could really put my new macro ring to the test! It was tough to get the shot because I was sweating like crazy in the hot sun, I didn't have my tripod, and there was a slight breeze was blowing the flowers around! But I fell back on my fail-safe strategy of taking lots and lots of photos, and I got a sharp shot of the tiny little spider's face!

Great shot. Is it a crab or spider? Looks like a crab
💋 @halo 💋😇

It sure does look like a crab! @mweich said it is a crab spider, and I'll defer to him as the expert!

Nice little crab spider!

Thank you! Nice to get a compliment from the king of bug macros! :)

This is incredible! It's a cute lil thing too!

Thank you! It is cute. :)

Whoa! Nice little surprise. Reblogging to my followers :P

Awesome, thank you very much for the reblog!

Epic shot! The spider's pokiness is perfect against the pop of soft yellow petals. That's some incredible macro gear and a great eye, @mikemacintire!

Thank you! I like your attention to the contrast between spiky hairs and soft petals!

wow, never seen a spider with such colour. :-)

It's always fun finding the little things when you look real close. Especially when they're looking back at you. Good eye and good shot.

Thank you very much! I'm really new to macro, and I'm seeing a whole world I haven't appreciated before!

Cool spider! He is realy cute! Great shot!
