iridescent cloud

My eye caught this 'little' rainbow blob in Sintra's darkening sky some weeks ago. They call it an iridescent cloud I found out later. It's a rare phenomenon they say, and indeed this is only the 4th I have encountered in my life.

I got into a little 'enthusiastic panic' when I saw it: being filled with joy for finding something beautiful and at the same time fearing that it would go away before I had found a suitable spot to put up camera. But the cloud stayed longer than there was light sufficient for my camera to film. I could zoom in, zoom out, take some more steps to the left and finally: relax and enjoy the magic.
