questo è un viaggio attraverso l'Italia. Posterò una foto al giorno con una brevissima descrizione.

Torremaggiore è un borgo della provincia di Foggia, nella regione italiana meridionale della Puglia. È famoso per il suo castello costruito durante il regno di Federico II, ora chiamato Castello dei Duchi di Sangro. Ha una forma quadrangolare con quattro torri rotonde ed è rimasta la stesso fino ai giorni nostri.
Il centro storico, quasi completamente distrutto da un terremoto nel 1627, conserva ancora inalterato il fascino medievale e l'elegante architettura militare, con palazzo ducale, un'estensione dell'antico castello normanno, di cui oggi è ancora possibile vedere la splendida tenuta (Maschio) e le quattro torri circolari con merli e feritoie e le rovine del castello svevo.
Costruito come una roccaforte difensiva in epoca normanna, il Castello Ducale è stato trasformato più volte nel corso degli anni fino a ottenere l'attuale aspetto rinascimentale. Dichiarato Monumento Nazionale nel 1902, il castello ha la forma di un quadrilatero irregolare con sei torri, di cui le quattro angolari sono castellate e le altre due sono quadrangolari.
I campanili delle eleganti architetture religiose spiccano tra i vicoli, come le chiese di Santa Maria della Fontana, Santa Maria degli Angeli e del Carmine.
Un luogo interessante da visitare vicino a Torremaggiore sono i resti di Castel Fiorentino. Castel Fiorentino era una città fortificata che fu abbandonata nel XV secolo. La leggenda narra che Federico II incontrò la sua morte nel 1250.

Torremaggiore is a town in the province of Foggia, in the Southern Italian region of Puglia. It's famous for its castle built during the reign of Frederick II, now called Castle of the Dukes of Sangro. It is of a quadrangular shape with four round towers and it remained the same up to the present day.
The historic centre, almost completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1627, still keeps unchanged the medieval charm and the elegant military architecture, with palazzo ducale, an extension of the former Norman castle, of which today it is still possible to see the stunning keep (Maschio) and the four circular towers with merlons and embrasures, and the ruins of the Swabian castle.
Built as a defensive stronghold in the Norman era, the Ducal Castle has been transformed several times over the years until gaining its current Renaissance appearance. Declared a National Monument in 1902, the manor has the shape of an irregular quadrilateral with six towers, of which the four angular ones are castellated and the other two are quadrangular.
The bell towers of the elegant religious architecture stand out amid the alleys, such as the churches of Santa Maria della Fontana, Santa Maria degli Angeli and of Carmine.
An interesting place to visit near Torremaggiore are the Castel Fiorentino remains. Castel Fiorentino was a fortified city that was abandoned in the XV century. Legend has it was here that Frederick II met his death in 1250.

Che posti magnifici, l' imbarazzo della scelta.... credo che voglio morire in Italia se ci penso bene, ....non perché penso giá a morire, ma perché anche quello va fatto bene no?
