Live Concert - Ha'DagNahash at Nahalal

in #photography6 years ago

Ha'DagNahash (the FishSnake in free translation) is an Israeli hip-hop band established in Jerusalem in 1996.

The name of the band is a crossword of the term "Nahag Hadash" (which translate to "new driver").

image

The band is led by Shaanan Street who's a social activist and regular initiator of cultural events and music among weak populations such as the Shekhel Festival (a one dollar festival).

image

The band's songs, and especially Sha'anan Street, are identified as Beitar Jerusalem (the Jerusalem's soccer team) fans, and this is reminiscent of their songs, the design of the logo and their albums, and their dressings, such as the peace process, the political atmosphere in Israel and weed.

Most of the bands songs are protest songs about all of the above.

image

The band has contributed greatly to the adaptation of hip hop and rap in Israel and today is considered one of the most successful bands in Israel, with seven albums.

image

The style is characterized by a combination of messages of tolerance, equality and peace, and includes social and political protest according to the genre tradition.

The band is protesting against the ills of Israeli society, including corruption (especially politics), capital and government relations, violence against women, the status of the IDF and Israeli wars in the Israeli narrative, etc.

Most of the songs are written by Sha'anan Street, the band's lead singer, The band usually notes that the songs were written and composed by all its members.

Hadag Nachash are the best popular musicians in Israel. They have a rap aspect to them, but they are mostly brilliant multi-instrumentalists who know how to put together a great song, great hooks, and fantastic performance.

My American non-Jewish friends who don't speak a letter of Hebrew even dig them. Great stuff.

Great post! I just followed you and upvoted you! Follow me back @relsserd.

Wow, the stage setup is awesome!
