Mycena seynii - The Pine Cone Mushroom 🍄

in #photography6 years ago

This lil' shroom belongs to a type of small leaf fungi that grow in forests, on the ground, or on tree trunks.

Usually not visible to travelers, although I happen to run across it a lot... 🤔

It sometimes appears in collections of photographs of forest fungi because of its unique growth - it grows on pine cones of Jerusalem pine trees.

Sometimes a single mushroom, and sometimes a group of several small, pinkish-gray or gray-brown mushrooms, rises from a pine cone and forms an amusing and touching picture.

This mushroom is not good for eating!

Enjoy!
